An eponymous anagram...

Yesterday I mentioned the album 'Speak For Yourself', the second by UK singer/songwriter Imogen Heap. I have now discovered that her début solo album I Megaphone (1998) - for long hard to find or, if you did do so, very costly - can be found again at a reasonable price even though it might have to ship from the US.

It is now on my wanted list and is available for £5.75 (US $ 12), including delivery to the UK.

You ever vigilant people have been looking at this and it has prompted me to attempt an update. I'm sorry it has taken so long, and really I must chase the latest on the next Fefe Dobson album too...

Back to Amy Studt: The album seems to be now My Paper Made Men and its UK release has now been pushed back from April 14 until May 5. The track-listing is, in so far as I am currently aware, as follows:

From what I have read thus far the UK press is in two minds about My Paper-made Men but it didn't like her first False Smiles (2003) much either. Take what you will from that but I'm going to listen to it before I venture an opinion on the new album and - guilty as charged - I rather like False Smiles even if it were not world-changing and, perhaps more importantly,was also rather unnecessarily over-produced. That is certainly not to damn it with faint praise and there is no accounting for individual taste. I think the single 'Misfit' actually made that pretty clear from the start!

The album False Smiles (2003): do you remember it? Probably not and I'll forgive you if you don't so we need an update on another artist who, much like Fefe Dobson, was apparently ditched in the mania that accompanied the realisation that downloading was for real.

Well although the above is an image from her 2003 incarnation, the one at the top of this post is not. She will be back in 2008 with a new album - My Paper Made Man - and Guy Sigsworth (sometime Madonna-producer and, with Imogen Heap, half of Frou Frou) seems to be involved with it too, which is no bad thing in my mind.
